Here at the ASHE Supply Co we pride ourselves on the products we create but we strive even harder to ensure a wildly fun work environment, which spills over into our engaging and first class customer service.  We’re always on the look out for great talent in multiple mediums; so whether you’re an experience barista or new to coffee we want to hear from you. If you happen to possess some artistic talents in fine art, design, film/photography and looking for a barista position we have some unique split work scenarios we are looking to fill. Current openings to the family:

Barista/Shift leader: Full time and Part time

  • Assists in training, continuing coffee education, and managing the staff and newly hired baristas.
  • Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes with the ability/knowledge to adjust flow rate, time etc to pull efficient shots with multiple coffees
  • Prepares pour-over coffee for customers and catering using standard shop measurements with the ability/knowledge to adjust grind settings and pour techniques require for the perfect cup when working with multiple coffees.
  • Enters orders accurately into POS device; accepts cash and charge payments.
  • Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area.
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
  • Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
  • Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors.
  • Serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines.
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers.
  • Expected to learn, understand and engage customers in coffee knowledge, as well as specific knowledge to the coffees and the farmers who we support
  • Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned while shadowing management and expected to act as managements right hand.

Experience:  1+ Year as a barista in craft coffee shop and experience on semi-automatic espresso machines, assistant management or management in a café setting. 

 

Barista: Part time

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management and shift leads.

Barista/Art Collaborative: Part time

This position is a split roll for someone who possesses a background/degree or natural/hobby skill set in fine art, design and or film/photography. This individual will be expected to adhere to the same regiments/role and efficiency of the above listed but will split time behind the bar and working on creative projects alongside management. If you’re reading through this you are or should be familiar with what we do at the ASHE Supply Co, hence the reason you’re even at this page. Though coffee is the focal point of our brand, it’s not all we do; it’s merely the catalyst to create our handcrafted lifestyle which includes apparel, coffee infused beard balms/oils, coffee scrubs and hand sewn bags and accessories. This individual will help design, market and or film/photograph and edit content for social media and all advertising. If you’re an art student this is a stellar opportunity to utilize your creative outlets while earning a solid hourly wage, use your work with us for your portfolio and opportunities to travel as needed for events. While this sounds rad, please keep in mind you will be kept to splitting these rolls and one may supersede the other depending on the needs of the company. 

Barista/Product Demonstration:

This position will require all of the above barista requirements but is a travel and demonstration based position. For now, all travel will be within the Detroit Metro area. Individual must possess same charismatic and outstanding customer service as they would in our café. The travel destinations will be to our wholesale gourmet accounts, trade shows and special events. You will be expected to pour coffee and provide free samples and or full paid cups depending on the event. Travel will be primarily on the weekends; however, weekday events might occur. Individual must have reliable transportation, clean driving record, cargo space for equipment (most cars are fine) and the ability to lift 50lbs (can be separated into multiple storage containers if lump sum is too heavy)

Experience:  Barista experience preferred but NOT required. If you’re a newbie to craft coffee and working in a café, we have a training programs to develop your skills in the art of coffee preparation. We will also train you on coffee processes, regions and farming to help cultivate the background knowledge to better serve the customer as well as understanding what takes place to create coffee.
